The Hammond Organ. Ask anyone who has played one on the club scene and they ’ll tell you horror stories about jacking the B3 up fire escapes or removing doorframes; not to mention the instrument’s sheer weight, alone. No question, the Hammond is a super heavy organ.

The Clinton Administration
a vehicle for putting together contemporary talent with funk-jazz patriarchs for an instrumental funk jam band.

The debut album, “One Nation Under A Re-Groove”, is an exploration of the music of George Clinton’s Parliament and Funkadelic years. Recording together for the first time Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown), Phil Upchurch (George Benson, Curtis Mayfield), DJ Logic (Medeski Martin & Wood), Skerik (Critters Buggin’), Melvin Gibbs (Rollins Band) and Robert Walter & Chuck Prada (both 20th Congress).

This loose contingent of highly talented players has gotten to together for the second time to record some of the greatest songs from the catalog of Sly and The Family Stone. Stanton Moore (Galactic), Charlie Hitchcock (Particle), Robert Walter, Chuck Prada and Cochemea Gastelum from 20th Congress; and Eric Levy, Fareed Haque and Kai Eckhardt from Garaj Mahal all join guitar great, Michael Lee Firkins, to put new life into some of Sly’s best material
